Hi! I'm Ben, the founder.
I’m allergic to every synthetic preservative in skincare. That means I can’t use anything off the shelf. So I made my own — sensitive skincare by sensitive skin.
It all started in 2011, my freshman year of college at the University of Vermont. Just two weeks in, my lips became so inflamed I was too embarrassed to leave my dorm. For weeks, I tried different products to calm them down, but everything only made the reaction worse. That’s when I discovered I was allergic to the preservatives found in nearly every skincare product. From that point on, I swore off conventional products entirely — until 2025, when I finally launched Nothing Else, a brand built by sensitive skin for sensitive skin.
Luckily, I also have psoriasis. Yay!
In 2019, my psoriasis hit a breaking point. My dermatologist recommended either constant phototherapy or more sunlight. Since I worked in a suit and tie in Midtown Manhattan, I got creative: on lunch breaks, I’d sit in Times Square, peel off my work clothes just enough, and try to catch UV rays between skyscrapers. It wasn’t exactly sustainable, so I moved to San Diego for the sunshine. My skin cleared right up, and I've been living in San Diego ever since.
Less is more — that’s our motto.

I spent four years in Vermont during college and grew a deep appreciation for it's track record in sustainability. Those values are what drive me today. I meticulously source ingredients from the most environmentally-friendly providers ensuring minimal refinement and maximum nutrients.
I love the great outdoors and my skin gets put to the test because of it. I use the most nutrient dense ingredients mother nature has to offer. My formulas are simple but they pack a punch.
